MF CENTORA

Massey Ferguson is pleased to announce the introduction of the new CENTORA range of combine harvesters.

The new CENTORA range consists of 2 models – MF7280 and 7282 with Auto Level versions available for both models.

These machines are designed to satisfy the demands of large arable farmers and contractors who require a high output conventional design combine harvester.

The new CENTORA combine harvester features the unique 8 straw walker system which combined with it’s gentle, yet efficient threshing system allows the machine to attain high performance outputs, clean grain and seed samples, very good straw quality with minimal fuel consumption.

The new CENTORA operator cab features ergonomically positioned controls, uninterrupted visibility of the cutting table, the proven Datavision II control and monitoring system and climate control to ensure that even the longest harvesting days seem short.

The new CENTORA is fitted as standard with the latest generation of the unique PowerFlow cutting table which gives excellent performance in all crops and is industry leading in tall crops such as Oil Seed Rape where it’s unique Rape Auger and Side Knives (optional) can increase it’s performance over standard tables by as much as 73%.

The new CENTORA combine harvesters draw on a long and successful product heritage, a simple yet strong design, and will deliver the highest levels of reliability whilst keeping running costs to a minimum.

Key Features

Operator Environment

Visibility
The operator’s view of the cutting table is unobstructed and allows the operator a “grandstand” view which is very important when harvesting in difficult crops and conditions

Seat Arm Rest Controls
The seat arm rest contains the main switches and controls. This ergonomic layout allows the operator to have full control of the machine with minimal effort thus enabling him to maximise the output of the machine easily.

Storage Area
The CENTORA cab offers significant area for storage. For example to the right of the operator seat a large flat area can easily accommodate a large cool box and a convenient 12v plug allows a mini fridge to be powered easily. This allows the operator to easily store his food and drink requirements for even the longest working days.

Climate Control
The CENTORA cab features an automotive style Climate Control system, this allows the operators set temperature to be maintained automatically inside the cab regardless of conditions outside and create the ideal working environment to maximise operator comfort.

Rear View Mirrors
The CENTORA cab is fitted with large electrically adjusted mirrors. These allow easy rearward vision to maintain safety during operation.

Datavision II
The CENTORA combine is fitted with the latest generation of Massey Ferguson’s proven Datavision II control and monitoring system. The monitor is positioned within easy view of the operator and is easily adjusted. It is operated via it’s touch sensitive screen or via the navigation buttons on the multi-function lever fitted within the seat arm rest. It is fitted with a “SD” style data card slot for convenient transfer of harvesting data for interpretation into yield maps etc via AGCO’s GTA software or other farm management software packages. This allows the owner easy access to machine data to easily collect machine and crop performance data for financial analysis.

Auto Guide Compatible
The Auto Guide system common to other Massey Ferguson and AGCO products can easily be fitted to the CENTORA range of combine harvesters. This can maximise the field efficiency of the machine by ensuring that a full table width is cut at all times. Operator fatigue is significantly reduced.
May not be available at initial launch.

Threshing and Separation

High Inertia Threshing Cylinder
The main threshing cylinder fitted to the CENTORA combine offers significant advantages over competitor designs due to it’s construction. The replaceable rasp bars are bolted to steel backing bars which are bolted to the cylinder. This arrangement means that the construction is very strong and is resistant to bending if foreign objects enter the machine. It also means that the weight of the cylinder is increased around it’s perimeter thus providing a very high inertial force which helps to maintain speed and threshing quality in poor conditions. It also saves fuel by allowing a constant speed to be easily maintained.

Highly Permeable Concave
The concave has been specially designed to allow a fast flow of threshed grain through it so allowing greater outputs and lower loss levels. The grain quality is maintained by the unique pre-threshing rub bar fitted to the front of the concave. The concave is electrically adjusted so optimum setting is easily maintained. These features combine to give exceptional grain separation and sample quality.

Twin Speed Rotary Separator
Located behind the Rear Beater, the Rotary Separator gently increases the volume of the straw mat creating more holes for any trapped grain to fall through. It’s speed and the clearance of it’s concave can be easily adjusted to allow optimum separation in all straw conditions. By increasing the straw volume and allowing the trapped grain to fall through losses can be minimised and output increased.

Unique 8 Walker System
The CENTORA features the unique Massey Ferguson 8 straw walker system. The 8 walker design is 33% more effective than a 6 walker design in turning, teasing and agitating the straw mat to release any further trapped grains. This reduces losses and increases output, whilst the simple belt drive and low power requirement ensure straw quality and low fuel consumption.

Grain Management
CENTORA utilises a true cascade cleaning system with 2 separate grain pans, electrically adjustable top and bottom sieve and a separate re-thresher to process any returns material.
The main grain pan has a large clearance between itself and the underside of the concave to ensure that there is no crop build up – separation of the grain from the lighter straw and chaff starts immediately as the material is transported rearwards. The combination of pre-cleaning air blasts, second grain pan, top and bottom sieves ensure a clean sample of grain is transported to the tank. The separate re-thresher processes the returns material and it is blown evenly back onto the main grain pan. The combination of these carefully designed and easily serviced components ensures fast transport of grain, effective pre-separation, optimised air flows and sieve actions to produce clean grain with minimal loss.

Grain Tank and Grain Transport

Grain Elevators
The CENTORA combine grain elevators have a 100ton/hr capacity, this ensures that there are no restrictions, even in the heaviest of crops.

10500 Litre Grain Tank Capacity
The large grain tank capacity ensures good field efficiencies with adequate time between unloading. (9500 litre on 7280/7280AL and 7282AL).

Turret Style Unloading System
The high output turret unloading system gives fast tank unload speeds and high discharge height which allowing fast, safe discharge into the highest trailers so maximising field efficiency. Automated controls for auger “engagement” and auger “in” functions allow the operator easy control of the Unloading system.

Grain Tank Full Indicators
Part full and full indications warn the operator via the Datavision II system of the tank fill status. Warning beacons also alert other field staff of the grain tank status. This allows for timely tank empting to maximise field efficiencies.

Residue Handling Systems

Straw Chopper
The CENTORA is fitted as standard with the “min till” straw chopper which is fitted with 108 double sided serrated blades. The stationary knives can be easily adjusted without tools to regulate chop length. For the shortest chop the “double chop” bar can be inserted (again without the need for tools) to chop the material for a second time. These easy to adjust features ensure the chop length can be set as short as required for optimum residue decay. The high speed and large rotor diameter coupled to the electric chopper deflectors (optional on 7280) ensure chopped material is always spread to the width of the cutting table thus ensuring consistent residue spread across the field.

High Capacity Chaff Spreader
The easily positioned chaff spreader, which is powered hydraulically, will ensure material is spread to complement the straw chopper.

Adjustable Windrow Deflectors
If the straw is not being chopped it can be easily diverted to windrows for baling. Twin deflectors, which are easily adjustable, can narrow the windrow to produce the perfect shaped windrow for following baling operations minimising the risk of cross wind disturbance.

Engine

Powerful SISU Engines
All CENTORA models are fitted with the latest specification 8.4ltre Tier III emission compliant common rail diesel engines. They also feature a 30hp power boost to ensure high outputs are maintained even during the unloading cycle. In combination with the machines other power saving designs, these engines return remarkably low fuel consumption.

750litre Fuel Tank
The fuel tank capacity is sufficient for long harvesting days and increased time between filling intervals improves field efficiency.

Lift Up Rotary Screen and Engine Bonnet
The engine bay bonnet has the effect of funnelling the air blast from the cooling fans across the entire engine bay minimising dust and chaff build up, combined with the lift up Rotary Screen which allows very good access to the cooling system, routine maintenance is very easy.

Styling

Large Side Guards
The CENTORA’s large, high opening side guards give excellent access to all servicing and maintenance points.

Smooth Modern Styling Lines
CENTORA’s smooth modern styling is also practical as the build up of dust and chaff is minimised.

Cutting Systems

PowerFlow Table
All CENTORA models are fitted as standard with Massey Ferguson’s unique PowerFlow cutting table. The large knife to auger clearance combined with the conveyer type feed system ensures all crops are fed evenly and head first. This insures even consistent feed to the rest of the machine optimising output and minimising peak loadings.

Rape Auger and Side Knives
The rape auger maximises output in Oil Seed Rape and other tall crops. Easy to fit and pre wired side knives also allow optimum performance in Oil Seed Rape and minimise losses.

20’ (6.2m) – 30’ (9.2m) Cutting Widths
CENTORA combines can be specified with 20’ (6.2m), 22’ (6.8m), 25’ (7.7m) and 30’ (9.2m) width PowerFlow tables to optimise field efficiency and equally match machine to crop yields.

Control and Monitoring

Automated Table Control Systems
Auto Reel Speed automatically maintains the operators set ratio between forward speed and reel speed. Correct reel speed/forward speed ratio ensures even crop feed. Standard on all models.

Auto Level Table automatically adjusts the table tilt left and right to maintain an even cutting height on undulating fields.
Standard on all models.

Automatic Cutting Height Control
Allows the operator to set a cutting height for the table which is automatically maintained during harvesting.
The system also gives the operator 3 pre-set heights;
Current set cutting height
½ the current set cutting height
Ground contact
These 3 heights are obtained by pressing the lower button once during harvesting.
The Automatic button can be double pressed to automatically raise the table at the headland.
The Automatic button can be pressed once to lower the table to the pre-set height.
These functions combine to make table operation very simple and easy for the operator and ensure that all crop is easily gathered even in difficult conditions.
Standard on all machines.

Field Pressure Control is an additional table height control system which allows the operator to set the table to the lowest cutting height possible but minimises the risk of “bulldozing” the field. This allows very easy and controlled gathering of laid or very short crops with minimal driver effort.
Optional on 7280, standard on 7282.

Automated Machine Control Systems
Returns Indicator displays the volume of material in the returns system to the operator via the Datavision terminal. This simple system allows the operator to fine tune the combine settings to maximise output.
Optional on 7280, standard on 7282.

Constant Flow monitors the load on the machine threshing cylinder and adjusts the machine forward speed to keep this load to the operators desired setting. This maximises machine output by keeping the machine loaded to the optimum even in varying crop densities.
Optional on 7280, standard on 7282.

Crop Yield and Moisture Sensors display to the operator via Datavision, the current crop moisture and yield. This information can be stored for a field by field and crop by crop record of harvesting events. The owner can see how fields and crops are performing as they are harvested and make storage and marketing decisions before the crop leaves the combine if required.
Optional on 7280, standard on 7282.

Yield Mapping combined with a GPS receiver, uses the SD card incorporated into the Datavision terminal to log and store Yield and other field events. The data on the SD card is easily transported to the customers office for interpretation into yield maps via the AGCO GTA software package or other farm management systems.
