The “Fieldstar” program designed by Massey Fergusson Company serves for more effective farming.

Principle of Program Operation

During combine operation, the computer creates electronic field map indicating different yield capacity areas. Having conducted map analysis of the same field over a year or several years period it is possible to determine exactly the need to increase yield capacity or, on the contrary, reduce costs. “Fieldstar” system is based on the two programmed data sets in the PC, such as yield capacity and combine location in the field.

Yield Capacity

Exclusive yield meter determines grain flow during feeding into the grain bin from the grain elevator with the error of  /- 0.5. While doing this, the meter does not allow deviations during counting which are inherent in volumetric systems.

Combine Location

The combine location data in the field during harvesting are juxtaposed with the yield data and put into the PC memory every 1.2 seconds, which ensures maximum precision for further data analysis. As the whole system operates offline, it does not complicate the driver’s work. Data upload into PC is performed easily due to a special memory card.

“Fieldstar” System Influence on Gross Income

Having compared total yield costs with the market price the program quickly draws the gross income diagram indicating clearly the field areas where yield was below the line.
